Like you, I have a "diving spouse", and I was hoping to find birds to photograph around the Iberostar. This resort did not disappoint. Thanks to your detailed descriptions, I had some ideas about which birds might be found.
Thank you for taking the time to create this photo essay. I have also published a blog of “Birds of Cozumel” that we found in February 2017 on my website : merrileesnaturephotos.com. I found many of these birds because you had listed them in your blog.
Thank you for your pre-trip advice!
Merri-Lee Merri-Leenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282904905780175338.post-58724412857985952842016-03-21T01:54:46.120-04:002016-03-21T01:54:46.120-04:00Hi Clive,

I spent most of my time fly fishing in the lagoons on the north end of the island. They were full of all sorts of large birds the same as you have captured here. I have now given up the flyrod for a camera. We will be in Cozumel in April this year, returning to the lagoons to capture as many photos of the wonderful birdlife that exists there. If you do go back to Cozumel, be sure to check out this wonderful area.

Cheers,

JosephAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282904905780175338.post-67778856108565284442015-04-18T04:22:04.135-04:002015-04-18T04:22:04.135-04:00Oh, me - no question!Oh, me - no question!Michael Hoskinsonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282904905780175338.post-29935304936197879662015-04-18T03:41:50.772-04:002015-04-18T03:41:50.772-04:00Great pictures,Clive, and I have learned a few thi...Great pictures,Clive, and I have learned a few things too!!!!!!!TONYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07767998391294014275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282904905780175338.post-53972231921080624482015-04-17T12:00:27.193-04:002015-04-17T12:00:27.193-04:00That wisenheimer in your garden, Michael - you or ...That wisenheimer in your garden, Michael - you or me?Clive Baughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10523779808271053053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282904905780175338.post-32595332462317875602015-04-17T10:45:48.406-04:002015-04-17T10:45:48.406-04:00We saw the lesser-spotted wisenheimer (hence the a...We saw the lesser-spotted wisenheimer (hence the alternate spelling) in our garden when you last visited, Clive.................
For all that, a great blog with terrific photos. Shame about the Mexican Scooter which I've always considered to be an overrated raptor whose song is not dissimilar to the stuttering fart of its closest relative, the Boat-Engined Heron. Though I must admit there were times when I wondered if you had drifted off topic..ie. in describing the Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher you say "its song is a thin, wheezy, nasally, mewing kind of thing" - you sure this didn't slip into a review of dylan's new Sinatra album ;) just joshin! Love the turkey vulture and the boat tailed heron! cheers rkAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03218564790196041189noreply@blogger.com
